COMPUTER SKILLS

Computer proficiency is an absolute necessity in today’s world. The earlier, the better. If you’re like me, you have marveled at our children’s ability to interact with modern technology from an early age. They seem to pick it up naturally. This is a wonderful skill. My classes challenge students to develop computer skills by interacting with these office tools professionally to create projects relevant to their studies and future careers.

QUESTIONS ABOUT COMPUTER CLASSES
1-3-What type of computer will my student need for class?
Students will need a Windows or iMac laptop for all computer classes. Students may also use a device like a Microsoft Surface. Students may not use a Chromebook, tablet, or phone.
2- What are the minimum requirements for my student’s device?
Windows devices must run Windows 10 or later. IMac devices must have a current operating system.
3-Does it matter if my student uses a laptop or an Apple computer?
No, students may use Windows-based or Apple devices.
4-May a student younger than High School take these classes?
Yes, and I think this is a great idea! Students need computer skills before reaching High School. Students that have taken a computer class in eighth grade and need to fulfill the requirement in High School can easily take a blogging or advanced computer class to satisfy this requirement.
5-What about software?
Each computer class requires particular software. There are many ways to purchase the required software: full purchase, subscription, or download. I can give you recommendations and options for acquiring software upon class registration. Please note that I do not sell any computer software. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
